Click the icon for your platform to download a zipped copy of the installation program.
Unzip (extract) it to a convenient location (e.g. your Desktop).
Windows (2000, Server 2003, XP, Vista, Windows 7 or Server 2008)
Open the unzipped Careers Workshop 6 for Windows folder and double-click the file Careers_Workshop_6_Setup.exe. Follow the prompts to install the Careers Workshop 6 on your computer.
Mac OS X
Open the unzipped Careers Workshop 6 for MacOSX folder and drag the unzipped Careers Workshop 6 application file to your Applications folder. Double-click to run the program.
Linux
Open the unzipped Careers Workshop 6 for Linux folder and double-click the Careers Workshop 6 executable file to run the program.
(Note: In some Linux distributions you may need to set the above file's executable property before it will run the program. e.g. In the KDE Desktop, this is done by right-clicking the file, choosing the Permissions tab and ticking Is Executable.)

Version 6.04 (18 October 2011)
This update repairs links to job information broken by changes to the My Future website and updates some images.
Click the icon for your platform to download a zipped copy of the installation program.
Unzip (extract) it to a convenient location (e.g. your Desktop).
Windows Users:
Open the unzipped Careers Workshop 6 for Windows folder and double-click the file Careers_Workshop_6_Setup.exe. Follow the prompts to install the Careers Workshop 6 on your computer.
IMPORTANT: To preserve student records and other saved data you must ensure that you install to the same location as the original installation:
At the Select Destination Location dialogue, click the Browse button and locate you current installation (for versions prior to 6.04 the default was C:\Program Files\Careers Workshop 6 for Windows)
The first time you run the program, you will need to re-register using the Activation Code on the inside sleeve of your original Careers Workshop CD case.
Mac OS X Users:
To update without keeping client records and other saved data, simply open the unzipped Careers Workshop 6 for MacOSX folder and drag the Careers Workshop 6 icon to your computer's Applications folder and click Replace when prompted.
The first time you run the program, you will need to re-register using the Activation Code on the inside sleeve of your original Careers Workshop CD case.
To update keeping all client records and other saved data in tact, proceed as follows:
1. Open the unzipped Careers Workshop 6 for MacOSX folder, right-click on the Careers Workshop 6 icon and choose Show Package Contents
2. Open a second window that displays the contents of your computer's Applications folder.
3. Right-click on the Careers Workshop 6 icon in your Applications folder and choose Show Package Contents.
4. Drag the folder named Contents from the unzipped file window to the Applications window and click Replace when prompted.
5. Double-click the folder named Data in each of the two windows to show its contents.
6. Drag the folder named jirecs from the unzipped file window to the Applications window and click Replace when prompted.
7. Drag the folder named sarecs from the unzipped file window to the Applications window and click Replace when prompted.
Linux Users:
Drag each of the files in the unzipped Careers Workshop 6 for Linux folder to the Careers Workshop 6 for Linux folder on your computer. Choose Merge All, and then, Replace All when prompted.
All student records and other saved data will remain in tact.
The first time you run the program, you will need to re-register using the Activation Code on the inside sleeve of your original Careers Workshop CD case.
