You should also download or print the Careers Workshop Getting Started Guide
from here.
A comprehensive User Manual is provided in the Help section of the
program, you
should consult this before using the various modules of the program.
Your evaluation copy will work for 30 days. After that, you will need to
obtain an Activation Code from Robert Werry Computer Services. For prices

Download instructions:
Windows
(2000, Server 2003, XP, Vista or Server 2008)
1. Click on the link below to download the cw6_win.ZIP archive file to your
computer.
2. Unzip (extract) the zip file to a convenient location (e.g. your Desktop) using the Windows
Extraction Wizard or a third-party program such as Winzip.
3. Double-click the unzipped file Careers_Workshop_6_Setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the
Careers Workshop 6 on your computer.
Download cw6_win.ZIP (1st July 2009) (Version
6.03, 6MB).
Mac OS X
1. Click on the link below to download the cw6_mac.ZIP archive file to your
computer.
2. Unzip (extract) the zip file to a convenient location (e.g. your Desktop).
3. Drag the unzipped Careers Workshop 6 application file to your
Applications folder and double-click to open the program.
Download cw6_mac.ZIP (1st July 2009) (Version
6.03, 8MB).
Linux
1. Click on the link below to download the cw6_linux.ZIP archive file to your
computer.
2. Unzip (extract) the zip file to the location from which you wish to run the
program.
3. Double-click the Careers Workshop 6 executable file to open the
program.
(Note: In some Linux distributions you may need to set the above file's
executable property before it will run the program. e.g. In the KDE Desktop,
this is done by right-clicking the file, choosing the Permissions tab and
ticking Is Executable.)

(please note that you will require the Activation Code, written on the
insert of your original Careers Workshop 6 CD jewel case, to register
this update):
Contains the following additions and corrections to original Version 6:
* Minor bugs that prevented the User Manual and Statistical Data
from being displayed correctly on some machines.
* Correction to a problem with Windows e-mail programs that prevented the
E-mail Report function from working. E-mailed reports in Mac OS and Linux were unaffected.
* Addition of a Detailed Report button in the Job Interest,
Self Assessment and Find My File modules to allow viewing/printing of
both results and details of highest-scoring categories.
* Correction to serious bug that caused clients' scores in the Job Interest
module to be misreported under certain circumstances.
Version 6.03 (1st July 2009)
For registered Careers Workshop Version 6 users only:
First, download and unzip the zip file for your platform from the selection
above. Then...
Windows Users:
Simply follow the installation instructions listed on the jewel case sleeve of
your current copy, ensuring that you install to the same folder as you did
originally.
All student records and other saved data will remain in tact.
The first time you run the program, you will need to re-register.
Mac OS X Users:
If you do not wish to preserve client records, simply
follow the download instructions for Mac OS detailed above (you will need
to re-register the first time you run the program). Otherwise...
1. Right-click on the unzipped Careers Workshop 6 icon and choose Show
Package Contents
2. Open a second window that displays the contents of your computer's
Applications folder
3. Right-click on the Careers Workshop 6 icon and choose Show Package
Contents
4. Drag the folder named Contents from the unzipped
file window to the Applications window
5. When prompted, click Replace.
6. Double-click the folder named Data in each of the two windows to show its
contents
7. Drag ONLY the folder named jobinterest and the file named
qs.dat from the unzipped
file window to the Applications window
8. When prompted, click Replace.
9. Move the remains of the download to the trash.
All client records and other saved data will remain in tact.
You will not have to re-register the software.
Linux Users:
Copy only the file Careers Workshop 6 to the Careers
Workshop 6 folder on your computer, replacing the current file.
All student records and other saved data will remain in tact.
You will not have to re-register the software.
Version 5.11 (18th Aug 2007)
Contains the following additions and corrections to original Version 5:
* Correction to minor coding error which caused scores to be missing or incorrectly
reported in the Self Assessment Save to Disc report. This bug occurred only in
reports saved to disc immediately after completion of the Self Assessment.
Reports saved via the Search function were unaffected.
* Correction to minor coding error in the Self Assessment Search function
that could result in the wrong report being displayed following a user error.
* Introduction of Self Assessment and Job Interest sub-folders in the Careers
Workshop folder created when reports are saved to disc.
* Introduction of E-mail Report option (allows Self Assessment and Job Interest
reports to be e-mailed to an address chosen by the client or supervisor).
* Correction to minor score ordering and reporting error in Job Interest reports
displayed from within the Supervisors Only module.
Instructions for updating from Version 5 or 5.1 to Version 5.11
1. Click on the link below to download the CW511.zip archive file to your
computer.
2. Unzip (extract) the zip file to a convenient location using the Windows
Extraction Wizard or a third-party program such as Winzip.
3. Double-click the file setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the
Careers Workshop 5.11 on your stand-alone computer or network server:
* You will be prompted for a Destination Directory. You only need to change this
if you changed the default location in your original installation.
* After clicking the Typical installation button you will be asked if you
wish to overwrite a file. Choose Yes to all and click Next. If
prompted to overwrite a Read Only file, choose Yes.
4. When installation is complete, perform the following additional setup tasks:
* Because this is a complete new version of the program, the first time you run
it you will need to re-register by filling in your Activation Code and
organisation's name. Use the Activation Code written on the insert of
your original Careers Workshop 5 or 5.1 CD jewel case.
* You will need to open the Supervisors Only section (the password will
have been reset to manager). Change the password if you wish and set the
Word Processor and MS Outlook Location options.
5. If you have difficulty with the above setup tasks, a comprehensive User Manual is provided in the file manual.htm,
or from the Help section of the program. You should consult this before
proceeding.
6. Please note that all client record files from Version 5.x will be automatically
preserved and available for use in Version 5.11.
7. Network administrators only should observe the following:
* Install, register and configure Version 5.11 on the server (as outlined above).
* Set the file CW.exe to READ ONLY (this is NOT the default
setting)
* No changes to client machines should be necessary.
